The Furano Kitchen | Sunny-Side Up Eggs

A sunny start

Tender whites, golden yolks, and a slice of toast to catch every bite. Sometimes the simplest breakfast is the one you look forward to most.

Today in the Furano Kitchen: sunny-side up eggs, cooked gently in your Furano 10.25-inch ceramic-coated frying pan.

Serves: 1
Time: About 5–7 minutes
Heat: Low to medium-low

What you'll need

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1–2 teaspoons olive oil or a small knob of butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Toast and chopped chives, optional

Let's cook

  1. Start gently. Add the oil or butter to your pan and warm over low to medium-low heat. Tilt to coat the surface. If using butter, let it melt gently without browning.
  2. Slide in the eggs. Crack each egg into a small bowl, then gently slide it into the pan. Listen for a soft sizzle, not a loud crackle.
  3. Take it slow. Cook for about 3–5 minutes, until the whites are set. If the edges brown quickly or the oil starts to smoke, turn the heat down and briefly move the pan off the burner. No need to flip.
  4. Finish your way. For more fully set whites, cover briefly with a suitable lid and check often. Season, then slide a silicone spatula gently beneath each egg and transfer to your toast. Scatter over chives and enjoy.

A little patience makes this breakfast: keep the heat gentle and let the eggs set at their own pace.

For a lower food-safety risk when serving runny yolks, use pasteurized eggs. Otherwise, cook until both the whites and yolks are firm.

Make it yours

Add sliced avocado, a handful of herbs, or a spoonful of chili crisp at the table. Keep it simple, or make breakfast the best part of your morning.
